The WorkBC Employment Services Centre offers a variety of free, drop-in, self-serve tools to help you in your job search. Services include one-to-one case management, job search workshops, job development services, career assessment tools, job boards, and a computer and an internet lab. Our job search workshops are designed to provide you with the tools you need to find your first job in Canada. Please see our workshops schedule.

If you are unsure how to navigate your employment options in Canada, book an appointment with one of our Employment Services Specialists. We will work with you to explore your options, help you understand the labour market, provide information about skills and education upgrading and accessing other employment services, and refer you to the services that best suit your needs.

Employment Mentoring

If you are a skilled professional, our Employment Mentoring can connect you with professionals from a variety of fields including engineering, IT, finance, education, and trades to learn about working in these fields in Canada. We regularly hold information sessions, with guest speakers who are locally employed professionals. These mentors will share information about local professional sectors and can answer questions about working in Canada.

Self Employment for Newcomers

This program, delivered in partnership with the YMCA of Greater Vancouver, will help you through the process of starting your own business in Canada. With 10 weeks of group workshops, private advising with a business coach, and much more, this program will guide you step-by-step and help you become an entrepreneur or small business owner. Empowering Professional Immigrants in Canada (EPIC) Women

The EPIC Women program provides customized Settlement and Employment support, peer-to-peer learning and networking opportunities and professional skills development workshops.

Youth Employment Skills and Strategy (YESS) Program
