Over 50 community service providers were convened by the North Shore Immigrant Inclusion Partnership (NSIIP) to review the emerging needs, gaps, and service usage patterns of newcomers on the North Shore. Participants included decision-makers and program planners across a broad range of sectors, representatives from NSIIP’s Immigrant Advisory Council, as well as front-line staff working directly with immigrant populations.
A keynote presentation was offered by Lydia Luk from PeerNet BC who provided opportunities for participants to explore equity frameworks and tools for building more culturally responsive services that support newcomers’ experiences of belonging.
This annual forum provides spaces for North Shore service providers to discuss the challenges and opportunities to shift systems to better serve newcomer communities.
