North Shore Volunteer Fair Connects Newcomers to Volunteer Opportunities in the Community

Posted on

The North Shore Volunteer Fair, an initiative led by NSIIP, was held on May 27th and brought together 27 organizations, and over 200 im/migrants and local residents. Over 90% of people who attended the Volunteer Fair said they connected with an organization where they are interested in volunteering. One participant commented that the Fair was “such a good way to learn about new volunteering opportunities,” while another noted that the event “really improved my knowledge of volunteer work.” Many of the participating organizations have expressed interest in this fair becoming an annual event.

This event was organized by the North Vancouver City Library, North Vancouver District Public Library, West Vancouver Memorial Library, MONOVA, North Shore Community Resources, Impact North Shore, and the North Shore Immigrant Inclusion Partnership.
