Youth

Movie Night: Popcorn and Perspectives

Enjoy a movie and discussion with other newcomer youth

Join us for a fun movie night screening of Stand and Deliver, followed by a discussion at the North Vancouver City Library. Stand and Deliver is the true story of a high school teacher who inspires his students to succeed despite facing challenges and doubts.

This movie night invites youth to watch a powerful film about identity, resilience, and overcoming obstacles. Join us to engage in a conversation on how education can empower and inspire.

In this session, you will:

  • Explore tales of identity, resilience, and growth
  • Learn about educational inequality and under-representation
  • Learn to build confidence, even when faced with stereotypes

Popcorn, pizza, and refreshments will be provided!
