Parenting Teens: Setting Healthy Boundaries

Settlement Workshops in Schools (SWIS) Workshop for Parents and Guardians

Adolescence is a period of change, self-expression, and search for independence. However, at this time it is also important to help teenagers learn to set healthy boundaries in relationships with parents, friends, and the world as a whole. Join this SWIS workshop to learn how to set boundaries with your teen and to support them in setting healthy boundaries with others.

Topics include:

  • Maintaining healthy communication between parents and children
  • Helping teenagers understand their personal boundaries and respect the boundaries of others
  • Ways to build trust and independence in teenagers while maintaining family harmony
  • Teaching your teenager to say ‘no’ without fear of losing friendships or support
