Immigrant Advisory Council

NSIIP’s work is supported by insights from the Immigrant Advisory Council (IAC).

NSIIP’s work is supported by an Immigrant Advisory Council (IAC). The IAC provides feedback on NSIIP’s work, shares and promotes promising practices and research, serves as a resource for community service providers, and liaises with ethno-specific communities to share information and encourage community participation. The IAC also played a formative role in conceptualizing NSIIP Strategic Plan 2023-2028.

The IAC is comprised of 12+ immigrants who live and/or work on the North Shore. Members are selected for two-year terms and represent a range of countries of origin, length of time in Canada, occupational backgrounds, age and gender. They also have experience, knowledge, abilities, or skills related to immigrant integration and are non-partisan.
