The Settlement Worker provides direct client services and supports newcomers in integrating and adapting to life in Canada. This position has a special focus on supporting newcomer clients to build through an integrated services approach; the Settlement Worker conducts detailed needs assessment and referrals, information and orientation, service bridging, community connections, support services, resource development, and ensures service accessibility for all eligible newcomer clients. This position will deliver health and wellbeing related workshops and provide one-to-one support using a trauma-informed approach to help distressed clients and increase positive mental health outcomes for newcomers. This position provides support virtually and in person.

- Conducts needs and assets assessments, develop service/settlement plans, and provide services bridging and referrals using client-centered and strengths-based approaches
- Provides individuals and families with information and orientation using a range of service delivery methods (online, telephone, email, and in-person) in 1-1 or group-based settings to achieve program outcomes
- Designs, coordinates, and delivers group sessions and workshops on a range of health & wellbeing, mental health focus settlement topics using a variety of service delivery methods and from a gender-based analysis plus (GBA+) lens
- Assesses and responds to clients in crises or presenting with increased vulnerabilities and/or visible trauma (via phone, online, or in-person) and provides immediate support using violence/trauma-informed approaches and notifies supervisor when more in-depth service interventions are required
