Posted on

Impact North Shore is proud to share that our 2024–2025 Annual Report is available online. This year’s report, titled “Strengthening Belonging Through Collective Action,” celebrates the power of partnership, collaboration, and shared effort in creating an inclusive and equitable North Shore. It highlights the incredible work of our staff, volunteers, partners, and community members in supporting newcomers and fostering a sense of belonging.

At Impact North Shore, we believe that belonging doesn’t happen by chance, it is built intentionally, through relationships, trust, and collaboration. Over the past year, more than 8,500 im/migrants accessed our programs and services, receiving support across health, employment, language, and youth-focused initiatives. Our annual report shares how these services are shaping lives and communities through stories, data, and reflections that illustrate both individual journeys and collective impact.

Key highlights from 2024–2025 include:

  • Health and Wellbeing: Over 4,500 newcomers received vital health information, mental wellness support, and referrals to services that improve overall wellbeing. Our programs embed culturally safe, holistic approaches that recognize the connection between social factors and health outcomes.
  • Employment Support: More than 2,700 individuals participated in employment programs, including youth-focused initiatives, mentoring opportunities, and self-employment support, helping newcomers secure meaningful work that aligns with their skills and aspirations.
  • Families and Youth: Expanded Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) programming supported over 1,100 parents and 500 youth, providing guidance on education systems, leadership development, and creative expression opportunities. A highlight was the event with author Harrison Mooney, which fostered honest conversations about identity, belonging, and racial justice.
  • Community Engagement: Our #UnityInCommunity campaign reached over 20,000 people, encouraging North Shore residents to connect, appreciate histories, reject racism, embrace reconciliation, and share moments of togetherness. We also collaborated with more than 400 community partners to strengthen inclusion, leadership, and civic engagement.
  • Leadership and Strategic Planning: Through initiatives like the North Shore Immigrant Inclusion Partnership and our new 2025–2030 strategic plan, Impact North Shore is deepening our commitment to equity, shared leadership, and community-driven impact.

The 2024–2025 Annual Report illustrates how collective action transforms communities, turning words into measurable impact. It is a testament to the resilience of newcomers and the strength of relationships that nurture belonging.
