Join this workshop for newcomer parents and guardians hosted by Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) to learn how social-emotional learning (SEL) skills will impact children’s academic and personal development.

Topics include:

  • Understanding stress and its effect on children’s behaviour
  • The Brain: emotional and self-regulation
  • Importance of parents’ regulation of their own emotions
  • Practical strategies at home
