Join us to learn how to make your own deer-hide rattle. Many Indigenous communities use rattles in ceremony, for singing, or as gifts.
This two-session workshop will introduce you to traditional ways of sewing, shaping, and decorating your rattle. The workshop takes place over two sessions because the hide needs time to dry between sessions.
These sessions are led by Squamish Nation artist and knowledge holder Lena-May, ancestral name Tsaxaxult, who is a member of the Squamish Ocean Canoe Family.
Limited spaces are available—register early! Registration and attendance at both sessions are required. All materials will be provided. This program is intended for adults.
