The annual North Shore Service Provider’s Forum was hosted on February 8, 2022, by the North Shore Immigrant Inclusion Partnership, a project of Impact North Shore. The focus of this year’s Forum was on COVID-19 and the Changing Needs of Im/migrants: Trauma-Informed Practices to Support Community Resilience.
The event offered a rich opportunity to honour community resilience and reflect on challenges and successes over the last year and was attended by over 60 community partners involved in service delivery planning and decision making. This included front-line staff and volunteers working directly with im/migrants as well.
Speakers featured during the event were Camille Dumond, Trauma Therapist & Conflict Facilitator, Vanessa Brcic, Family Physician and Somatic Therapist and Parampal Sharma, Director of Services at Impact North Shore. Participants learned how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted client and community vulnerability, shared strategies for how to build trauma-informed services that support resilience and gained information about emerging im/migrant service trends on the North Shore.
