Land We Live On: Coast Salish Language Learning Session

A unique opportunity to gain a better understanding of First Nations history, language and culture.

Have you ever wondered what the “7” stands for in Sḵwx̱wu̓7mesh Sni̓chim?

Through an interactive activity book and guided lessons, you will explore the sounds of the Squamish language, learning how to say greetings, numbers, and colours. Along the way, you’ll be introduced to the Sḵwx̱wu̓7mesh worldview, gaining insight into the meaning behind key words. Join this interactive workshop to explore Coast Salish Language and culture led by one of MONOVA’s Indigenous Cultural Programmers.
