Impact North Shore is proud to announce that our winter job fair was a great success!
The North Shore Job Fair, held at the Lynn Valley Centre on February 9, 2023, was organized by our Employment Services team and brought together employers from a variety of sectors and im/migrant job seekers. Over 400 newcomers attended the event. Representatives from 12 local employers shared information about opportunities in their organizations, hiring processes, and more. Many thanks to these employers for partnering with us to create pathways for im/migrants to connect meaningfully to our local economy: BC Parks Foundation, Capilano University, RBC, Winners, Kin’s Market, Vancouver Coastal Health, Zazou Salon, The Key, Parq Vancouver, Acres Enterprises, ICBC, and Blue Shore Financial.
Our team of Employment Service staff provided in-person resume screening and offered support to newcomers to connect with employers.
Job fairs provide an important opportunity for newcomers to build their professional networks, learn about different sectors, and meet with potential employers. Local employers have the opportunity to tap into im/migrant talent pool.
We are looking forward to more job fairs in the future!
