Youth Champions Group Attends CityFest

Posted on

CityFest is an annual youth community event in North Vancouver run by and for youth to celebrate Youth Week and features local performers, activities, and opportunities to connect with youth organizations on the North Shore. Impact North Shore’s Youth Champions group was pleased to have a table at this year’s event on May 7 to connect with local newcomer and immigrant youth and recruit participants for the program. This was a successful event for Youth Champions, with many eager newcomers and immigrant youth engaging with our staff and volunteers to learn how to get involved.

The Youth Champions group is a volunteer program for newcomer and immigrant youth grades 8-12 to gain Canadian work experience, generate ideas for youth activities, and build leadership skills. This program is run by our Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) staff. To learn more about the Youth Champions program, please contact Azade Amirmoayed at azadea@impactnorthshore.ca.
